4 out of 5 stars An overrated bounty hunter and a toddler for hire.   January 14, 2006
My obsession with collecting these figures continues. What sucks is now I'm to the point where I'm just getting the ones I don't have yet- not the ones I want. I guess that's how collecting goes though. Here we are at the Boba Fett and Dengar two-pack, an interesting combo. Boba Fett, nearly every SW fan boy's wet dream, and Dengar, the least popular of the main bounty hunters. Poor guy. The only reason these two were packaged together is probably because Dengar "rescues" Boba Fett from the Sarlacc Pit according to several different books. Forget the books, why don't you- there are too many of them, and it's impossible to keep up with who's who, who rescues who, and who did who. Personally, I'd rather they packed Boba with IG-88 and left Dengar to Bossk. This is also yet another semi-boring set as far as what they can do goes.

You probably want to hear about Boba Fett first, so I'll talk about him last. Dengar comes with a huge gun, and you can only move his right arm. Everything else is stuck in place. He's the least popular of the 5 main bounty hunters for a lot of reasons, one being that he looks the least interesting. Even 4-LOM has a creepy robotic bug vibe goin' on for him. Dengar's just an old man in bandages. I never read too much into his history, but I'm not exactly motivated to do so either. As for the Galactic Heroes representation of him goes, he looks like a toddler with an eraser on his head. You know those triangular erasers that you can put on pencils? Yeah, he looks like one of those. He has a pretty lax look on his face as well, making him anything but a threat. Fett, the most overrated SW character in history, pulls all the stops regarding detail. All his logos and emblems are there, as is the braided Wookiee hair trophy. His rocket pack is a little bigger than it should be, but these figures aren't about scale. You can move both of his arms, and his custom blaster rifle is in his right hand. They did a great job painting him too- the blaster mark on his helmet is terrific. Both of the figures are average in height- nothing like the Chewbacca, Emperor or Darth Vader figures.

I can already tell that most people get this set for Boba, and it's a wonder why after seeing the prequels, finding out that he's just a darshy kid who grew up with WAGE built up inside. Though I don't care for Boba, the figure still looks cool, and you even get a bonus Dengar figure to slap around.

5 out of 5 stars Screw You, Collecters!   September 4, 2005

My 3-year-old LOVES these little guys. Hands down, they're his favorite toys to play with (operative word: PLAY).

Unfortunately, they're often extremely hard to find, except on auction sites for prices approaching $40.00. This tells me they've been snapped up by "collecters," AKA: greasy losers who still live in their parents' basements, fawning over their collection of still-wrapped plastic objects (and the speculators who prey on them). Hey guys, it's called a life. Try getting one sometime.
